The Modern Business Card

Color business cards have come of age and they are not what they once were. In today’s modern world we see various kinds of beautiful to down right crazy designs when it comes to business card printing. Whether is is a good thing or bad thing is still being discussed, but suffice it to say that they have become increasingly interesting as of late. With the modern tools available to businessmen and women today almost anyone can create unique, eye catching and effective color business cards.

No more whites!

One of the major things that we have noticed in modern business cards is the shift away from printing in white. Traditionally people printed their business cards in white, or basically in standard business card paper stock. For a time, it was really considered odd and unconventional if you used something other than that. However, with todays more creative and accepting world, printing white business cards are considered boring and uncreative. In some industries, printing white business cards is akin to career suicide. Everybody today needs to be flashy, innovative and most importantly memorable. So if you are still printing white business cards, you are already behind the times my friend. Go find your business card printing service and print a new batch with a better design.

More than the usual paper stock

Another trend that is going through the business world is the change from regular business card paper stock to other more interesting types. Plastic business cards are a personal favorite of mine since they are resistant to most forms of moisture, and they cannot be easily damaged or scratched. Of course this kind of business card printing is more expensive than the regular kind, but the trade off is that plastic business cards are virtually immortal. They might even outlive their owners.

Besides plastic however, environmentally conscious businessmen have answered back by printing eco-friendly business cards. There are several types of these. There are business cards made from recycled paper. There are others that are made from paper from sustainable forests. Lastly, there are those that have seeds in them. The seeded cards are most interesting. When those business cards biodegrade, a plant eventually can grow from the remains. If you are out to save the world, green business cards may be your best bet.

All in all, there are a lot of interesting and alternative “paper stocks” available for people. Only in this modern world can you place plastic business cards and green business cards head to head. I wonder who will people choose as their business contact when given those two kinds?

High quality graphics

Anyway, as the last great characteristic of modern business cards, high quality graphics have been used extensively to improve first impressions. Traditional business cards only had words and slogans, but now with full color digital business card printing, any kind of image can be added to a business card. Most people maximize this advantage by adding supplemental pictures that enhance and represent the business card holders persona. Also, this has in fact given rise to plenty of possibilities like the marketing business card (with promotional messages and images) and the job application business card (with personal 1×1 image and bio data).

So, as you can see the modern business card has grown from its humble roots to become the powerful and creative business tool that it is today. If you have old business cards, or you don’t have color business cards yet, now is the time to start printing them lest you get left behind.

''That's Strenga Roman font in bone – on gilded birch embossed 40lb paper.''

''Nice. But check this out. Helvetica Latin Bold font with goldleaf, raised lettering and 30lb. Tasmanian rice paper stock.''

I enjoy the company of men. Some of them seemed to enjoy being with me. They paid the way mostly. I never had a destitute guy approach me. The guys who did, I didn't really care how much money they had as long as we had fun and I was attracted to them.

When I decided I wanted a family I wanted a guy who seemed stable and could provide. I guess I wanted him to have enough money to help me raise a family, but, I didn't really care what kind of car they drove. As it turns out, my husband makes plenty and we are well provided for. We have a nice house, decent cars and money for their college. He likes those things too. I'm sure he doesn't feel I'm using him. I know he's happy an I am too. That's all I think I need in the money department. So, I guess this means I disagree mostly.
